Rocky Mountain RoughRiders Announce 2018-2019 Coaching Staff

RoughRiders 2018-2019 Coaching Staff

The Rocky Mountain RoughRiders are pleased to announce the coaching staff for the 2018-19 season will remain the same for the 13U-18U levels and Coach Andy Jasicki will be heading up the new 12U team.  The RoughRiders Coaching Staff brings a vast amount of hockey knowledge from both their playing and coaching experience.   The RoughRiders have an experienced elite staff that is built to develop each player and provide them a developmental path to become an elite level player.

Coach Smail will continue to head coach the 18U RoughRiders in his 8th season with the RoughRiders and looks to continue to build off the 18U’s previous State Championship Titles.  Coach Smail played 16 years at the professional level, 13 of them in the NHL.  Coach Smail has been coaching AAA for the past 12 years.

Coach Vanover will once again lead the 16U RoughRiders in his 3rd season with the RoughRiders.  This will be Coach Vanover's 14th season coaching at the AAA level.  Coach Vanover is recognized as being a top player development coach and instructor at the Tier I level.

Coach O'Leary will continue to head up the 15U RoughRiders in his 8th season with the RoughRiders.  Coach O'Leary is looking to build upon the 2017-2018 NAPHL Dixon Cup Championship.  Coach O'Leary has been coaching at the AAA level since 2000.  Coach O’Leary played NCAA Division I College Hockey.

Coach Huckins will head up the 14U RoughRiders building off of the 14U’s 2016-17 State Title and Rocky Mountain District Championship in his 8th season with the RoughRiders.   Coach Huckins was the Boulder Hockey Club Director for 11 years and brings over 30 years of coaching and playing experience.

Coach Timm will lead the 13U RoughRiders in his 2nd season with the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders.  Coach Timm previously coached for the Superior RoughRiders Junior Team and has worked with the RoughRiders AAA teams and players for the last few years.  Coach Timm played his Junior hockey in Canada and played NCAA Division III College Hockey.

Coach Andy Jasicki will return to the RoughRiders coaching staff as the new 12U Head Coach.  Coach Jasicki played NCAA Division III ice hockey for the University Of Wisconsin, Stout. Post College, he played nine seasons, as a professional, in Europe. Coach Jasicki has played in Spain, Sweden, Finland, and Norway finishing his career with the Denver Cutthroats.  Jasicki was previously with the RoughRiders as an Assistant Coach for the 13U, 16U, and 12U Tournament Team.  Most recently, Coach Jasicki has been the Director for Kent Valley Youth Hockey and Junior Coach in the Washington area.  Coach Jasicki has extensive coaching experience at the 12U, 16U and Junior Level.
