Rocky Mountain RoughRiders, proud members of the NAPHL, are pleased to announce that Jared Shuter, 18U forward (6'1”/180) has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement* with the Amarillo Bulls. The Bulls are members of the NAHL’s South Division.
Shuter, 17, native of Prescott, AZ, is currently in his first season with the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders. Shuter has played 16 NAPHL games this season and has 4 goals and 7 assists.
"Jared has been a steady player who has been committed to improve his game from his first day with the RoughRiders. He has been diligent and pushed himself to improve. His tender offer and acceptance is a tribute to his integrity towards the game and our organization. It is well earned and well deserved," said Coach Doug Smail.
Shuter is the second Rocky Mountain RoughRiders' player this season to sign a NAHL tender agreement.
The RoughRiders would like to wish Jared the best of luck with his future hockey and academic opportunities.
*A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 4, 2019.
