The Rocky Mountain RoughRiders are pleased to announce the 14U, 15O, 16U, and 18U teams each won their division in the CAHA Tier 1 AAA State Tournament. This is the first time in the Club's history all 4 teams have won the state tournament in the same season.
"I can not even begin to express how proud I am of these young men and what they have accomplished!!!! To see all 4 of our teams win and raise state championship banners over the course of the last 2 days was incredibly impressive," said Hockey Director Paul DePuydt.
Tier 1 Hockey Federation is thrilled to announce that the Rocky Mt RoughRiders have officially joined for the upcoming 2023-24 season as part of the Central Conference. This addition marks a significant moment for both our organization and the Rocky Mt RoughRiders, bringing together two entities committed to the growth, development, and well-being of hockey players and all involved in the sport.
The Rocky Mt RoughRiders have earned a stellar reputation as a Tier 1 Hockey Program, with a long-standing commitment to the growth and advancement of their players. Mykyta is a talented hockey player who has achieved remarkable success in his journey. Originally from Ukraine, he prepared for two months to play hockey in America and was subsequently selected to play AAA 16U hockey. Mykyta is grateful for the unwavering support of his teammates, which helped him reach the State championship where they defeated the Colorado Thunderbirds. The 16U team would advance onto the Rocky Mountain District Championships, but unfortunately lost in the finals to the Arizona Jr Coyotes.
Mykyta's progression of development throughout the season got noticed by his home country of Ukraine as he was selected to participate in the World Junior Championship in France, where his team placed 5th.
Despite the challenges he faced throughout the year, Mykyta managed to finish with passing grades thanks to his strict routine. In addition to his impressive athletic achievements, Mykyta is fluent in four languages and is currently learning his fifth. His dedication to learning is a testament to his work ethic and commitment to self-improvement. Mykyta's role model is Moritz Seider, a German professional ice hockey defenseman for the Detroit Red Wings, and his favorite NHL team is the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
Throughout his time playing hockey in America, Mykyta enjoyed the strong team culture and the friendships he made. He is grateful for the support he received from his teammates and coaches, and he looks forward to continuing his hockey journey with the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders. Mykyta is an inspiration to those around him, and his dedication to his craft is a testament to his hard work and perseverance.
