2026 Elite Spring Training Development Program Overview

The Rocky Mountain RoughRiders AAA Hockey Club is excited to partner with Boulder Hockey Club to bring you the Elite Spring Training Development Program. This program is designed for 2014-2017 birth years and their families.

This program emphasizes complete hockey and athlete development through a combination of on ice, off ice, and video training sessions. Sessions will be rigorous and physically demanding. The RoughRiders Elite Spring Training Development Program is built to push and challenge players to improve all aspects of their game.

Players in this program will train with some of the top player development coaches in the state. We are committed to giving each player the tools and knowledge needed to prepare for the upcoming season.

Be ready to train, prepare, and take your game to the next level.

Weekly Training Structure

  • 1 session per week is designed to develop and challenge individual skill through repetitive muscle memory patterns such as dynamic skating and edges, puck skills, shooting, and giving and receiving passes.
  • 1 session per week is designed to develop individual game skills. This session builds on individual skills and introduces decision making with a teammate or an opponent. Players will progress into small area games that incorporate skills and decision making for increased hockey sense.
  • 1 video session per week will provide a visual of the same skills our players are working on, demonstrated by the best players in the world.

Shooting and Goaltender Sessions

  • Goaltenders will receive one goalie session per week run by In The Crease Goaltending. In addition to their age division skates, goalies will be challenged to compete and improve reading plays, rebound control, and hockey awareness through competition in small area games and skill drills.
  • Coaches will also work with shooters on scoring skills and tactics.
